Sympathy vote for Tricia?
SANDGATIAN

Her partner mentions a family member illness/hospital and the worry it has been for him (strange how it didn't stop him pulling silly faces or sticking his tongue out whenever the camera was on him) and says he's not saying it for a sympathy vote, then the female students, who out number the males, typically all voted for Tricia

Can't believe Shaun left. What a shame!

Tricia didn't get the sympathy vote. She got voted in because she has a great voice plus she seems to have a laugh, unlike Shaun who seemed pretty miserable. And I think the public liked the friendship between Tara and Tricia.

Glad they are both through to the final. Tara 's voice has improved and has an innocent quality to it, and I love the English accent she sings in, unlike everyone else who sings with an American accent. Tara's voice is different. She also has a great character and is a real laugh. Also a very insecure, warm person. You can understand why the public like her.

I'm happy for either to win tomorrow, but I think Tara is going to win without a doubt.

I dont think that Tricia got the sympathy vote from the student vote. I just think that the girls were always going to vote for Tricia and the boys for Shaun.

But her husband and her were definately going for the sympathy vote with the public vote though. He shouldn't have been allowed to bring personal stuff like that up when the lines were still open.

She didn't get the sympathy vote, more so the gender vote.

I can't believe he brought up "well our son has been in hospital"...it didn't stop Tricia getting hammered every night (as I'm sure she would have been told), and she clearly didn't seem too distressed by it even when they cut to her face live as he said it. For shame!

Tara was most popular and Colin the least. So obviously it was down to the students to vote either of the two out of Shaun and Tricia into the final.

I don't think she had any sympathy votes tonight and if anything the stunt with hubby might have done more damage to an already fragile popularity vote.

Whenever anybody says "It's not for the sympathy vote" it's for the sympathy vote, but in the case she didn't get it.

I agree I don't think it affected the result but his appearances are becoming pretty irritating - if he was that concerned he shouldn't have been there otherwise don't mention it.

Haven't seen a HUGE amount of this year's show but I really haven't warmed to Tricia. She seems very fake, particularly when the judges are heaping praise on her. Case in point was a couple of nights ago when she did a trio with Shaun and Ray and the judges were asked who they thought was the best. One of them (Lesley?) started by saying "SHE has been outstanding ... blah blah blah" yet when she said her favourite was Tricia (by name), the reaction was as if it was the biggest shock of all time.

She also seems pretty desperate to win as presumably it will lead to more for her than for the likes of Ray (in it for a laugh) and Tara (just in it!)

I could be wrong but I haven't taken to her at all.

Also last night her singing was ABYSMAL. Obviously not as bad as Tara but really not the voice of a great singer at all.

Interesting that the 'sympathy vote' suggestion was made - and by Tricia's husband himself.

My attitude was immediately that if her little boy had been poorly enough to be hospitalised, then she should be at home with him.

If I had been about to vote for her - her husband's comments would have put me off.

As a mother myself, I fail to see how being sympathetic towards her would want to keep away from her little boy any longer than necessary.

That's my feeling to i don't think she would be still there and enjoying herself if her little boy was that ill. I personally think her husband is a arse a very irratating one who at every possible chance sticks is face in the camera.
