I say good for black sheep having three bags full, if ryhm said they were empty but white sheep had full bags then maybe a problem unless black wool had been stolen by goths then it is not blame for black sheep.

Depends on the size of your bags. I myself have HUGE bags, but that's probably not a discussion for here.

If I had a pound for the threads that started with 'my son/daughter/stepson/stepdaughter/grandson/granddaughter/niece/nephew came home from nursery school today' I'd have enough to buy most of the regulars on here a drink.

Heh heh. Too much bed and not enough sleep. Maybe that's the cause of oversized baggage.

Both my children have been taught Baa baa white sheep, I had an arguement with my oldest because she was singing it and I told her it was wrong.

Turns out all the local schools have changed the rhyme.

Now if I was black I would claim they are being racist by missing black out of the rhyme.

Oh, sweet baby Jesus.......not this crap again!

Just to re-iterate:

o No-one in the history of Britain, anywhere, has ever, does or will ban the singing of the song, "Baa, baa, black sheep"

o Anyone who believes such a ludicrous concept to actually be the case needs a good kicking

o Some nurseries, as discussed earlier, utilise the nursery rhyme to do a round-robin of colours to teach toddlers the same. When this is the case, the colour black is not necessarily shunned.

o Seeing the phrase "Baa, baa, <insert colour other than black here> sheep" does *NOT* indicate in any way, that some rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth hippy teacher has instilled in your child that the use of the word black is offensive to either black humans, black sheep or black anything else.

o Teachers still refer to blackboards where they exist.

o Stop.

o No really. Stop.

I've been thinking about this and I wonder if it's just the new "jobsworth", if you see what I mean. There have always been stories of odd people in (local) government departments - and other big organisations - doing things which smack of power-craziness and the old phrase for that used to be "jobsworth", as in "it's more than my jobsworth to let you do that".

Now certain elements of the press seem to have an agenda in trying to stir up the idea that we're all going to hell in a handbasket, these kind of stories get reported under the "PC gone mad" banner.

Discuss.

Did they draw a picture of a white sheep? Maybe that can explain it...

Must have been a particularly lively curry.

Claims that baa-baa black sheep has been banned have been doing the rounds for at least 20 years now. Even if any of these claims were true, it'd be a rubbish ban seeing as its still sung on such a regular basis.

Yawn

More "It's political correctness gone mad what's this country coming to maybe Hitler had the right idea". I'm getting sick of people who do nothing but rant on about "political correctness gone mad" and "bloody foreigners" . Has nobody got anything better to do? The PC Briagde doesn't really exist, and you shouldn't believe evrything the Daily Mail tells you. Just please NO MORE "POLITICAL CORRECTNESS GONE MAD" threads. We've all herad it all before and anyone with half a brain knows these things are invented to sell newspapers. End of!

I suppose you want us to call up your headmaster and say "wee wee poo poo" to satisfy your juvenile sense of humour without getting you into trouble. Is that it, little boy? And is this all made up? I bet you made it up!

No, some people seem to think that because thier local school teaches something that every other school in the country does so.

That is not the case, now unless you are going to phone every school in the country and ask have they changed it to white from black then shut up and stop posting.

That is actually a phone number for an infant school. First one on the list.

Is anyone going to phone and ask the question?

And do you have any reason to believe that the change has *anything* to do with political correctness, or that it's a school or council policy rather than one teacher, or are you just assuming so that you can rant?

I can rant because it has been changed, i'm not the only who has experienced this being changed in a school.

I had to sit my daughter down and explain why it was black sheep originally.

I haven't spoken to the school about as it's not a big deal but it p*sses me off when people say i'm a liar or made it up.

Hence the rant !!

I don't know about this one but schools who still have blackboards have to call them chalkboards.
