Sorry if I am repeating a question if it has already been asked, but does anyone know what date BB4 is going to start. I know its May sometime....... any official news on the the big night

Much as I'm looking forward to BB4, I do not intend to vote this time. IME, there were seemingly suspicious irregularities with the phonelines last time round.

Since the vote results are open to monitoring by Endemol as they come in, the possibility arises that they can interfere with the phonelines to shepherd the votes towards the result they want, if the voting trend is not going the way of their preferred HM. This sort of thing is more likely to occur in close eviction contests, because in such cases, small adjustments have maximum impact.

Clearly they can, and I believe they do, do this. And this is not sour grapes about Alex not winning, as I concede one can argue by the same token it may have worked the other way too in his favour eg. against Alison in wk 2. I'm also a huge fan of conspiracy theories....

Therefore my suggestion to make the voting process as above suspicion as possible,
would be to make it a "double-blind" process -- ie. Endemol should NOT be allowed to know the state of the voting as it happens.
That way they are not in a position of knowledge which allows the possibility to interfere. They should only be told the result for the first time after lines close, like the rest of us.

Maybe we should insist on U.N. Observors, or at the very least the Electoral Reform Society

Just out of interest, Eejay, did you really think Alex was going to win ( as opposed to just wanting him to win ) ?

And if so, did you think this right up to the last night ?

I must say that come the last night I fully expected Jade to win, such had been the tabloid frenzy on her behalf for the last two/three weeks

Sorry to be pedantic Eejay..... our boy did not lose! He just did not win. He was a finalist and placed third 'winning' the 'bronze'. At least that's what my rose coloured specs tell me.

Nevertheless, I'm defininitely a conspiracy theorist. I tested it out on finals night. There was definitely something 'funny' going on!

I was changing channels yesterday on my video when I 'landed' on ITV1.

At that instant Tony Blackburn was on This Morning and mentioned a startdate for IACGMOOH2 of May 5th, which is a Monday. I can't remember how long it was last time (> 1 week but < 2?).

I imagine that Ch4/Endemol would want the dust to settle on this programme before BB starts. I know I will need to.

Therefore, if May 5th is correct, allowing for the Celebrity aftermath, even Friday 23rd seems too early for BB4. The 30th or even 6th June now seem likelier imo.

As I understand it - BB will be starting in June this year not May.

Im well pleased it has a later start. I work school terms only so I have all of July and August off -yippee! It will be interesting to see what all our first impressions are and if they later prove to be correct. Here are some first impressions of the bb3 crowd.

I think the first series started in June, didn't it? If I remember correctly it ran through the summer and into September.

Hmmm....On the official site today, I note that they say BB4 wil start in 'around six weeks time'. Well 'around six weeks time' from now is mid-May!

Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

IMO Big Brother 4 will start on Friday 16th May

I go along actually with the June start date....... if for no other reason to give Davina a chance to get over Reborn in the USA... which must have at least five weeks left in it, and she did say once that was over, she was going to take a month off with her husband and daughter to relax. May would be far too soon for her to start on BB4 !!

Ali G in the USI is starting on Fridays at 10 so we'll have to wait for that to finish before big brother goes in to that slot.

And no it can't be moved because they'll be moving Graham Norton

Personally I'd also like a later start - generally it starts to early and finishes to early.

To go through to September would ideally be better for CH4 as all the teens, etc watching will spend more money on text voting, etc. and it would allow them to have a definate sellout of eviction tickets.

If push comes to shove, Ali G would move to another night or a later slot entirely. Channel 4 wouldn't hold back on starting BB because of an Ali G series

Most likely a weekend slot.

As much as I'm looking forward to BB4, I'm hoping for a later start so that I can get exams out of the way before I'm addicted once more.

I usually end up only watching the eviction nights before the holidays.

Actually..it was fixed, but fixed for Jade to lose, because if she had won some would have accused Endemol of fixing it
