My daughter has a Samsung D600 on T-Mobile.

She locked it in error and so I contacted T-Mobile for the PUK. The chap was very friendly but also very hard to understand, the outcome was the PUK was entered incorrectly and him telling me I had to pay £10 for another SIM.

I am less than thrilled at this situation, and not just because of the £10. All my daughter wants is a phone that works, it's on a contract and so I'm paying for it working or not.

Any solutions?

Most of the info out there concerns unlocking the phone itself but I can't see much about unblocking SIMS.

There is a limit to the number of times you can enter an incorrect PUK (normally 6 or 3), after that the SIM is permanently blocked.
So i'm afraid you will need to get a new one.
The moral of the story is to make sure you understand what you are doing before you attempt to do it. There's no shame in asking for clarification.

6 or 3?? I thought it was 3 for the PIN and 10 for the PUK.

Or you can order a free T-Mobile pay as you go SIM with 3000 evening and weekend texts free from the T-Mobile website if your contract is near the end.

Thanks for your reply.

The PUK definitely has not been mis-entered 10 times (just 2 I think). I appreciate your offer of unblocking.
I have a Sim reader with a USB connection, I guess I would be able to do it myself if you told me where I could find the software?

There is no software to unlock a SIM after a PUK block. Unfortunately the only way around it is to call Tmobile to get them to send you a new SIM (cost: £10) and will be with you in a day or two or go in to a Tmobile shop (cost: £14.99) and get one over the counter.

If the PUK hasn't been entered incorreclty more than 10 times, why don't you just call t-mobile and ask for the PUK code? I don't see what the problem is.
