I know what you mean. I commented straight away at home that it is very rare that either Gail or Deidre even give each other the time of day! lol

Deirdre had an ulterior motive and Gail looked suitably surprised when Deirdre asked. Made perfect sense to me.

It's a long running thing on here that Deirdre & Gail - considering the similar amount of time they've been on the street and the fact they're both mothers and a similar age - they don't have anything to do with each other apart from the odd hello or chat in the Rovers. It's quite realistic.

I bet Gail would rather have been running Eileen down instead of talking about Demon. I bet she was really disappointed.

It was strange seeing them in the same scene and actually talking. I liked Gail's ashtray!

Yet they've been friends for over 30 years. I remember watching the 70's episodes, they spend time together often in the mid-70's when they were about the only two females in who were the same age! Corrie never had a lot of 'young folk' in it in those days, but it never suffered for it.

That was why I smiled when Toxic said 'Since when have they been mates'. They were mates before she was born!

The writers might have forotten in recent years, but it's still there, just in a different way.
