Perhaps he's said it wrong but Paddy said for another year, and also said '07, where as last time he didn't same 'O5.

I was thinking, in late of Just Of The Two Of Us and SoapStar Superstar, could this FA be commissioned for next spring, and drop it's Comic Relief name?

I don't think they will bring FA back. Shame but I really can't see it

2009 is "another year", just as 2008 is.

So he was correct.

I think he meant 'over for another year', not 'we will be back in another year'.

Ah, yes, that's the explanation that I was searching for - more eloquently put.

That's the first time I have been called eloquent, thanks.

They could do with giving the final a slot of its own. It was a non-event.

Yes, 30 - 45 mins, both sing two songs, voting continues up to the end of the programme. And most importantly, host it a day before Comic Relief night so that it does not get lost.

The BBC would be going back on it's word ("No more copycat shows") were it to return, so no.

I prefer X Factor to be honest. Ironic to see Kate Thornton mention FA tonight though...

Surely that would not be going back on their commitment as the show was already in existence, any revival would be just that - a revival as opposed to a new show copying an existing ITV format.

If the Comic Relief series comes back in 2009 someone needs to have the sense to beam it in live from the Academy rather than have another monumental anti-climax like that one. As the previous poster said. A total non-event. Waste of effort really.

Fame Academy isn't coming back as a regular series. Don't waste your time speculating. It just isn't.

I totally agree with you in principle, but the other side of it is that they're trying to encourage people to watch the main Comic Relief show. So if there are 2 FA segments, lots of people will be watching who may not have tuned in otherwise - I certainly put myself in that category. As the whole thing's supposed to be about raising money, that can only be a bonus.

OK, so have the longer segmemts, scheduled at a specific time, with two songs, a proper lead-in (such as a quick review of the final session with the coaches etc), and in the final segment at the very least have a short awards ceremony and an opportunity for a few words (rather that a "blink & you've missed it" segment that really let down the whole of CFA, and the hard work that everyone had put in over the past 2 weeks).

Mossy, I suppose the only way to look at it positively is to say "well if it wasn't for Comic Relief day we wouldn't have had it anyway", but I know what you mean.

Yes, I accept what you say of course, but last night I actually walked away from the TV, and that was after watching every CFA programme nightly on BBC1 - it felt a total letdown, I was really hoping for a continuation of the "competition" rather than a short singing demonstration (as befits a "final").

It was almost as if we had the final on Thursday, with the final votes counted and announced on Friday.

Yes.

Just before the results were announced Tricia said "We won the competition last night - Me and Tara".

I agree wholeheartedly with the "blink & you've missed it" sentiment. It was the same last time. It was a real anti-climax and so unfair on the winner.

It was too short and i preferred the FA stage better, the CR stage was smaller and it just felt silly they had to walk around on those catwalks or whatever you call them.
