Agreed. They were filling time a bit before announcement. What's the betting that the tele system was in overload or crashed due to the no. of votes going in for the final Bolero Seemed that they allowed a lot of time after close before announcing result - they must be running really scared at moment due to revelations. It meant hardly any time to talk to Kyran or Claire.

I think for a lot of people that is probably the decider. Kyran's solo skating was just that bit stronger. Having said that, Clare really did step up to the plate tonight.

This is just an op-inion but Ithink that Clare is first rate at being lifted but not so confident skating, especially on her own.

i thought Duncan's final spin in the air was awful. all wobbly and uncontrolled, i think Nicky commented on it. thought Kyran's 2nd routine deserved 6's as was excellent. no wonder Clare looked the best in the air, she has had weeks of practice!

Nope, Fred and Mel, Maria's married to someone called Andrei, not Clare's Andrei though!

Its very odd because they had avoided the traps these votes fall into. When they open the voting lines early and there is only one thing to judge people on the people going on first either grab all the vote early if they are exceptional or are more usually forgotten even if they are good- in CFA the first three on were pretty often the bottom 3. This show gets around that by opening voting after one act and then leaving them open while we have another performance and keeping them open between shows. That solves the second problem which showed up on "How ....Problem of Maria" which is that the lines froze when too many people tried to vote for some people and if they performed late in the show there was no time to try again later - here you have Primeval to vote in.

Then they go and ruin it all by detaching the voting from the first show from the final result so the end result reflects who votes again in a short period which is related to fan base rather than who won most support over both shows. Having a short period to vote and starting voting with the first dancer also means anyone waiting to see the second person befoe voting for them has less time to vote and the lines are more likely to be engaged. You either vote without watching both Boleros or you risk not getting through and the one on first has an advantage.

Better to count everyone's votes not just the people who revoted and let the public have a decent interval to vote after the second Bolero by filling it with T and D or something.

I've just watched Kyran's flying performance again and it was better than I originally thought

I think it just didn't seem brilliant the first time round because he wasn't skating, and on that he's perfect

I didn't watch the final ...... had to watch Wales win the rugby and then Eurovision.

Watched the first half of the final programme and they had to string it out sooooo long that by 9:30 I switched over to Making your mind up, frustrated that Phillip was banging on about this, that, and the other, and not announcing the winner.

I switched back, Kieran had won and was giving his thanks, especially to Mel, I thought the words he used were lovely, then he was cut short by Philip mid sentence as they had no more time. Strewth, they phaff about for 35 minutes then when it come to the interesting part when Phillip and Holly cease shouting and shut up and give the skateres chance to have a word, then they cut them short.

It's no use bigging up the result then not giving enough time for the speeches. It's all in the production and this one really stank. Not sure I shall bother to watch the first show which I recorded ...... shouting continues next week in the Champion of Champions as if we really care now who is the 'Champion', I don't think last year's winner is taking part, says it all really !

Sky+ has saved my marriage I think, as I got to tape the final and watch it this morning - we were actually late getting to a friend's wedding party because the Welsh hubby wouldn't leave the house until they'd won the rugby!

That really annoyed me - all that filling, and he doesn't even get given a chance to finish his thanks. What he said to Mel was lovely, and the reference to his "beautiful wife" was sweet too.

Thought she was doing it - they interviewed her as part of the padding?

I found voting really difficult last night, torn between who I felt performed the best overall on the night and who's approach and performances I had enjoyed the most through the series.

i preferred kyran and mels bolero. i also felt that they were constantly in time with each other and always finished at the same time along with the music no matter what they were skating too
