I don't think BBC 2 should have a soap because BBC2 is supposed to be an altrenative and the airwaves are teeming with soaps anyway.

As all soaps seem to be basically the same, plots all now being written by young people whose knowledge of life is restricted to the forumulae they learned at media college then you're not likely to get anything different anyway. Look at Waterloo Road... started off really well, but the second series immediately got all soapy with personal stuff and was a big yawn, although I haven't entirely written it off yet.

Yes - they should bring back "Eldorado" and add some of the writers and characters from "Benidorm".

Hollyoaks has been brilliant the last few months, and I used to hate it with a passion! At least they try and stand out from the usual soap crowd. Doesnt always work but at the moment its definitely the best soap around in my opinion.

I think though that people have become too familiar with some of the more watched Soaps though like EE & Corrie, so it could be time to try something new, or re-fromat the existing ones to make them a bit fresher instead of just re-formatting the same stories!

I see five are looking for new cheap drama, may I suggest a soap set in sunny Spain but studio scenes filmed in the London.

All they have to do is fly the actors to Spain for the weekend and film the location scenes on the beach ect. It is very cheap to fly to Spain on cheap airlines!

Correct, the fact that 4 million viewers watch Benidorm clearly shows their is a viewership of millions for a sunny based soap!

Correct, what we need is a soap set in a sunny beachside town. Thierfore Spain should be the setting in a fitctional town beside the sea with lots of beach scenes and beautiful actors wearing very little!
