He still sings, although his CD is the worst selling American Idol Winner CD ever at around 600,000 copies in America.

Well, I think he is the worst winner to date and the worst sales figures seem to be backing that up.

Chris has become the real star of AI5, his album is at number 3 (number one last week) after 16 weeks, and has sold close to 2 million copies.

Chris was robbed, although he has stated he never wanted to be a solo artist and always wanted to start a band. So I think he's glad he didn't win, and the figures are showing he was the real winner.

I liked Taylor and his style of music but I'm not really surprised by his sales. He's hardly working in a highly commercial genre.

The American public have just abandoned him it seems! So much for the so - called "Soul Patrol"

I never really got Taylor no idea why he won I always thought it was becaue he was grey.

To be fair her album has only been out a few weeks, but it hardly looks like it'll be massive.

That is really rubbish! Even The X factor winners in Britain sell more copies! America has 5 times more people than in Britain so that figure is shameful for Taylor. Shame that his fans aren't loyal (unless they voted about 10,000 times each)

It does seem amazing that a year old country album by Carrie was outselling both the new albums by Taylor and Fantasia very quickly!

It is an OK figure for an album in America. It just falls far short of past winners. Carrie has shipped 5 million already and Kelly Clarkson did that many with her last CD. Total year on year CD sales are 20% down in America. In this country sales of music are far more stable.

It's quite good actually. I got mine for £6.60 from an asian website. It was the US version of the album too I reckon Katharine has a bright future ahead of her. Her Cd may not be the best selling Idol album, but I reckon the record label will invest in her and maybe re push the album with the next single. I also think she can go into acting and modelling as she is so gorgeous.

Album rankings are revealing, esp in the USA because they don't pay a premium to vote by phone on the show - therefore the winner is not always the most popular person but the one whose fans vote the most times - there is no financial penalty for voting 100 times versus once. But when it comes to laying cash on the line you can see that Chris Daughtry was the most popular from the last season. I suppose it may also be related to what is selected to go on the album.

I also think when you vote on talent shows you are not necessarily voting for who is the best but maybe to give someone the chance to break through that would otherwise never make it - Chris Daughtry would likely be able to get a record contract by walking in to any big producer and doing his stuff, Taylor Hicks would not, so I never supported Chris (I supported Elliot who lacked the looks and style but had a great voice). I think we also vote for the underdogs and oddballs to try to send a message to producers that we don't just want identikit performers all the time.

I always thought Carrie was good , even though she was void of emotion /peronality. But I was probably biased becaue it was Vonzell for me all the way

I think that year was the best final three actually. I preferred all three to anybody this year.

I think he won because of his distinctive hair, his cutesy grin, and because Simon Cowell didn`t particularly like him.

It all rather reminds me of Sanjaya.

I agree. I think the worst final 3 was Season 3. I never understood the fuss about Fantasia. Despite the fact that she couldn't pronounce words properly when she sang , she had an average voice IMO. Diana was the only top 3 deserving candidate that year. Latoya and Jennifer should have been the other 2.

I bought both Taylor Hicks & Chris Daughtry's albums. Liked them both on the show but the difference in the albums is that Chris Daughtry has stuck to what he's good at and has thus produced a brilliant album while Taylor Hicks has abandoned his roots and gone for what I can only describe as poppy drivel. Shame as some of his performances on the show (ie. Levon) were brilliant.
