Bias towards Kyran

I was shocked last nite at what happened.......Holly Willoughby asks Torvill and Dean "so what was kyran's best moments" or something then straightaway cuts to the result like she already knew and completely missed talking about clare!!

holly looked like she knew she'd cocked up

Yeh I thought that was odd but I think they seemed to be rushing a lot, maybe they mistimed the roundup beforehand - Kyran had to be cut off mid-thank you virtually, and Clare didn't have a lot of time to speak after that.

Yeah that did seem odd. And they obviously weren't pressed for time because Phillip took a huge pause after saying "The winner is...."

I think they just misjudged time and thought they had to hurry, then left Philip to pause to catch up but left it for too long so they had to hurry again.

I thought it was odd too. Don't know what they were doing. I could have written a 1000 word essay in the time Phillip took to announce the winner. It was ridiculous!

I'm fairly sure Phil has to wait for the producer or whoever to tell him the winner via his earpiece - the pausing gets on my nerves though, Chris Tarrant has a lot to answer for!

I saw Kyran promoting himself several times b4 and although he was good, Clare was clearly the best and didn't get as much airtime during the week

Or am I just mistaken?

I have to admit that although I thought Clare was the best performer last night, I still maintain that Kyran skated more, both last night and during the whole competition, so I think in fairness, Kyran deserved the title.

Yeah because he's the male skater so he obviously is gonna skate more.

The females have to be lifted so it's not Clare's fault. When she was on the ice it was still great.

It has nothing to do with the fact that he's a male skater. I just found him over the entire series to be the most consistent and productive of the skaters.

Overall, Duncan was my favourite simply because I thought he was the one out of the top 3 who had the longest journey and development.

Let's just agree to disagree ... we are all going to like different people for different reasons, and I have no objection to that.

I was commenting on your use of the fact that Kyran skated MORE as a reason for his win.

Nothing about preference or who was the BETTER skater. I was just referring to your comment about him skating more.

Well said, Mirin. That's the best comment anyone's made.

Which Kyran did, in my mind's eye, though I don't think that was the reason why he won, and if I gave that impression, I apologise.

Yeah he did skate more, and I don't think anyone disputes that. I just personally don't feel it should be about that because then the female celebs have no chance as they're the ones being lifted.

It seems to me that there was no bias at all, just a bunch of monkeys in the production suite who put too much padding in, couldn't keep everything to time and gave a pause before the announcement so long it was hysterical.

For me it also has to do with interpretation and expression, which I don't feel Clare did particularly well. Whereas last year, I just loved Gaynor and Daniel to death and was thrilled that they won, because Gaynor was so emotive and expressive. As I've said before, people are going to like different people for different reasons.

I LOVED Gaynor and Daniel and was so glad they won. I think I'll be backing them in the Champion of Champions too.

You see, we can agree on something hun. I must admit that Gaynor & Daniel and Duncan & Maria will be getting my support next weekend.

clare was more consistent over the whole series....remember the comments after the first week???

kyran simply relied on comedy and ridiculous facial expressions and gimmiky moves like body popping.....i mean what was that about, and he only came into contention about 3 weeks from the end after the chasing cars routine.

clare was far more daring....ie the backflip etc

He did actually skate and was very good at it too

He came into contention a few weeks from the end. Chasing Cars wasn't a comedy routine, so he obviously wouldn't have come into contention on that routine if what you say is correct
