The Jam Sngles in Soaps

It may be a strange coincidence but in the last week alone, there has been several mentions of Paul Weller and the Jam in both Eastenders and Corri? Last week Eastenders mentioned the Jam twice and i am sure they even played Going Underground in either the cafe or the Vic. It also got a mention in Corri last week too.

But to top it off the Morton family who has moved in not he Street last night got a complaint from Gayle for loud music. And what was it. Going Underground from the Jam.

Does Polydor have shares in the soaps too. Or am I going mad!!!!

I had to laugh at Sarah on Corrie saying the music next door was rubbish! Going Underground is a top tune, it sounds as good today as it probably did all those years ago(I wasn't born when it was #1)

I like it now for its nostalgis value, but strangely enough I felt that as a piece of music it was overrated at the time, and that other circumstances surrounding the writer at the time were more responsible for its popularity.

Still, I like it now. Whilst I can understand that it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea I wouldn't ever think it was "rubbish", but each to their own - Sarah's such a chav anyway

Glad it wasn't just me. I think there must be a hugh markeing potential in all of this. As long as they don't start playing Mr Blobby. I agree The Jam were great

Don't have to tell me that, they've always been popular in this house!

Sarah is going to be into all the R&B stuff, so she wouldn't like 'shouty punk' music. I have loved the Jam for almost 30 years.
