Corrie ~ Monday 19 March
Monday, 19 March, 7.30 - 8pm
When Leanne (Jane Danson) tells Janice (Vicky Entwistle) that she's working at a property exhibition at a hotel in town she decides to play the proud step-mum and go and see her in action. On a ruse to deliver her mobile phone Les (Bruce Jones) drives her to the hotel but Janice gets more than she bargained for when she finds Leanne arm in arm with a much older man, who she kisses before taking into a lift. Janice reels as she tries to make sense of what she's just seen. After negotiating a slightly dodgy discount on his neon sign Jerry (Michael Starke) prepares for the grand opening of his takeaway joint. Cracking open the cheap bubbly he invites the neighbours over for a glass and even Roy (David Neilson) is drawn into the warm hospitality offered by the Mortons. Steve (Simon Gregson) and Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) agree to join Paul (Sean Gallagher) for a round of golf when he reveals his mates have let him down. But he's not the whiz he's led them to believe as Steve takes an early lead. And Tracy's (Kate Ford) not happy when she hears Deirdre's (Anne Kirkbride) been talking to Claire (Julia Haworth) about her 'domestic abuse' claims. This episode is written by Joe Turner, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Tim O'Mara. 07:30 Episode Monday, 19 March 8.30 - 9pm Now sure of what she's seen Janice (Vicky Entwistle) feels sick as she waits for Leanne (Jane Danson) to re-appear downstairs at the hotel. Spotting her she marches over demanding to know if she's a prostitute. Outside Leanne tries to deny it as a confused Janice heads back to the street. Back at the flat a furious row ensues as Leanne tries to gives reasons for why she does what she does, claiming she's an escort not a prostitute. Furious Janice throws her out, but is she willing to lose her step daughter all over again? Peter (Chris Gascoyne) makes another play for Maria (Samia Smith) as he plays on the fact that they've both been called as prosecution witnesses for Tracy's trial. Maria tells him she should be keeping her distance but as she enjoys his flirty banter it's not long before she weakens and invites him round to hers for dinner. Meanwhile Tracy's (Kate Ford) on edge when she discovers her mum's been talking to Steve (Simon Gregson), Claire (Julia Haworth) and David (Jack P Shepherd) about their evidence. She's even less pleased when she catches Peter chatting up her arch enemy Maria. With the opening party at the takeaway in full swing Jerry (Michael Starke) works his charms on doubters Roy (David Neilson) and Gail (Helen Worth). Can he win them over? And Steve and Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) can't believe what a useless golfer Paul (Sean Gallagher) is when he loses the game and his cash in magnificent style. This episode is written by Joe Turner, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Tim O'Mara. Discuss here!

But they're not in Bowdon...
It's always odd watching Corrie when I actually live round here -- they're forever turning a corner and ending up three miles away

lol enjoyed first episode!
That fake accent of leannes is superb! Steve again star of the show! I knew the golfing would be hilarious-plus it gives Paul a chance to mix with others and for people to like him a bit! Still, im afraid, warming to the Mortons. Although I enjoyed Jodies line about Roy being a bit slow! Ok, I suppose David and the son-whats his name again?-could be funny together.... looking forward to second episode! |

Very enjoyable first episode tonight, with a lot of funny moments.
Jerry trying to scam the builders into giving him the sign for free was well done. The golf game was funny - so good to see Paul make a complete t.it of himself! And Leanne's fake accent was hilarious
