Also, by 'pubs', I assume SINBAD meant the Rovers and the Weathy Arms, since there are no other pubs north of Watford. Well, except the Woolpack, of course.
And the Malt Shovel when you slum it

I agree he is Sinbad, even in Where the Heart is

He was great as Sinbad but if he's not up to putting that behind him and becoming Jerry in everyone's minds then Corrie have made a big mistake - If the viewers are still thinking of him as Sinbad in a couple of months time, then he's failed at his job - I don't think he will do that.

I wonder if Janice will win the best shouty soap scene in Harry Hill this week?

Thanks, I couldn't remember the name. I don't think they ever set any scenes in there.

He seems very similar in character - he should have been a different character if he's to shake off Sinbad

I thought Heartbeat, but got that wrong too - he was in the Royal, for 6 years which surprised me. It's funny to think that some only know him in this. Having had him in my living room 3 times a week for nearly 20 years, he'll always be Thomas "Sinbad" Sweeney to me.

A good 2 episodes.

Not sure if i like the Mortons yet but have to give them time. I just get the feeling they could be the new Harris's.

The golf scenes were funny but it did look they weere made on Dev's camcorder sometimes!

Overall, good night for corrie

Good second episode. Vicky Entwistle's acting was superb.
Leanne's torrent of abuse to Janice was so vicious - I'd have given her a slap.

I agree with what you say about it being a stand out point though. It was just the way you said it before
Corrie was much more "gritty" in the 60s rather than humourous. The comedy really came into play when Bill Podmore took over as producer in the 1970s. He'd worked on sitcoms like Nearest And Dearest & was keen that the drama of the show should also be balanced with comedy.
