I was thinking out this the other day , are they are any characters in soaps that arent meant to know another set characters ? ( im talking in the same soap)? the more i thought about it the more i couldnt come up with any examples! the only ones i could think of were the students in hollyoaks surely they dont know everyone?

I think Hollyoaks is prob the only sdoap where everyone dosn't know each other... I think its better that way. I don'y know evry single person in my area

I think in soap land there is a big difference between knowing someone and knowing of someone.

In Eastenders Phil and Rob don't know each other but Phil probably knows of Rob. I know my next door nieghbour, she used to work with me but when I see her husband walking about, I've never met him but I know he's married to her.

As far as I can remember in Corrie Kevin doesn't know Leanne and there are probably more folk who don't know each other. I do think the previous poster was right and Hollyoaks probably has the most people who don't know each other.

Kevin would know Leanne as he was in the street when the Battersbys moved in.He has had very little to do with her however and may not even realise she's back yet.

Everyone in Corrie does seem to know each other because they not only live in the same street,they all drink in the same pub,all shop at the kabin and Devs corner shop and all go to Roys Rolls for a fry up etc.

They all know each other in Emmerdale as well but that is supposed to be a very small village,with one pub and one shop in the whole area so i suppose thats a bit more understandable
