Kevin would know Leanne as he was in the street when the Battersbys moved in.He has had very little to do with her however and may not even realise she's back yet.
Everyone in Corrie does seem to know each other because they not only live in the same street,they all drink in the same pub,all shop at the kabin and Devs corner shop and all go to Roys Rolls for a fry up etc.
They all know each other in Emmerdale as well but that is supposed to be a very small village,with one pub and one shop in the whole area so i suppose thats a bit more understandable
