My son tells me that I can put my T-mobile Pay & Go sim into a Virgin phone and it will work without being unlocked. Can anyone confirm this?

Not always. A virgin sim will work in a T-Mobile phone but a T-Mobile sim wont always work in some virgin phones,

Sorry I though they all did. Used my dads virgin phone to use my T-mobile sim and it worked.

Yeah some do but some don't. Or thats how it used to be it might've changed though.

Not yet because both networks are still separate from each other and just have a roaming agreement for the signal sharing.

From what I've been told, Virgin will have full access to the merged network from April.

As the current state of play, yes they will be able to use the Orange/T-Mobile networks BUT you won't all of a sudden be able to put your Virgin SIM Card into an Orange Handset..

Although I doubt this, I don't think they will be removing the SIM locks anytime soon to allow this either.

I remember being told years ago that all Virgin phones costing over £100 come unlocked.

I don't know if that's still the case.

That sounds good. Will Virgin mobile users have to sign up for it or just get it automatically?
