Orange Network Down The Pan?
on the air
21-03-2007
Our company phones are on Orange. For weeks now, phones have not been ringing and going to voice mail, missed called alerts are taking up to 24 hours to come through, and when you try and dial out, you just get two beeps and nothing. Orange's answer is the network must be congested. SHODDY! A one off occurence can be expected, but a continuos issue. People who have personal Orange contracts I know experience the same problems, so it does not seem Local to this area. Is Orange's infrastructure not able to cope with the capacity?

i left orange because of this and shoddy customer service!
Overseas call centres and long hold times from a chargable call as my phone had a "network error."

If it's a network capacity problem then it's set to get worse as 3 mobile customers will all be roaming on to Orange when there is no 3 coverage soon.

All new customer are. Old customers can roam on both O2 and Orange at the moment but it will be Orange only for everyone soon, not sure exactly when.

I'm getting "No Network Coverage" in Plymouth on Orange today.
I've when I search networks, I pick up a Orange 3G which is lost after a minute, normally this reverts to the normal network, but it isn't being detected.

I have just told them to shove it up there arse LOL. Only 2 months left on my contract after 9 years with them. Dont get any network coverage at work now for 6 months. I have had to get a PAYG vodaphone for the last few months. as my mum is deaf i can only text her. All you get from the tech people at orange is that there base station near me is down. Can it really be down for 6 months? They said there is no date for it to get fixed!!!

Just so glad I have not switched to Orange, although I have had no problems with my old T61 on Orange PAYG, even then reading all this, no way is Orange getting to have my money on one of their contracts.

As an aside, T-Mobile told me voice always gets priority over text (texts were not getting delivered for up to 24 hours) is this correct and does it apply to all networks?

I've always got a great signal on orange. Apart from my school for some reason. Never over 1 bar on my k750i.

i had some trouble last year when i first got a 3G phone with dropped calls etc. No trouble for the last 10 months though.

02's coverage seem to get the thumbs up from most people. Always good to check with friends/work colleagues to see what reception they get before changing networks.

Yes it is. Luckily the contract is up for renewal later this year, and the company will be porting back to o2.

I don't know what Orange are playing at. I was with them about 2 years ago and they seemed a good network. But now I keep hearing these reports. I certainly won't be going near them again, they even have the cheek to charge for text delivery reports now as well. Come on Orange get your act together or you'll have no customers left.

There was a report on the BBC news of a JD Power survey, guess which mobile company came bottom (for contract customers), yes Orange.

(T-Mobile were bottom for pay as you go)

It's such a shame, because they used to be top when Hunchinson owned them, the bloody French have ruined the network. Stay away from France Telecom.
