I am able to access GPRS/WAP perfectly through the phones built in browser, but whenever i use a java applet that has internet connectivity i just get the 'G' symbol on the screen and never connects.

The applets im using are things like the java version of GMail, and the Opera browser for mobile phones. These should work, but don't on my phone.

Depending on network you may need a mobile internet access point rather than a WAP connection.

You mean Wi-Fi? My phone does not have that. It is defiantly WAP/GPRS. Any other ideas?

No not wi-fi, a mobile web connection.

Many providers do not allow access to the internet proper through their WAP gateways. You need a seperate set of settings to do Web over GPRS rather than WAP over GPRS. Let us know your operator/service provider and we may help.

Wasn't aware of that, thanks for the info. I'm on Vodafone, do I need any settings, or would perhaps customer services be able to help me?

I had the same problem on the SE K800i (with the two same apps!). The thing that fixed it was going into the Java Settings and making sure the correct WAP connection was set. Worked fine afterwards. Have a look at your settings and see if that's the problem.

Thanks for that. Ive tried that but i seem to have another problem where my phone crashes when i try to access WAP. I think it has something to do with the codes #*536961# and #*536962# which i used when putting Java games on my phone. Neither of these codes fixes the crashing problem though
