Just seen the latest videos on here for upcoming The Bill episodes:

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/a4...or-part-1.html
and
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/a4...or-part-1.html

Looks really good. This is what i like - more action and less of the soaps - i mean there is enough of them around.

And will be interesting. In the years i have watched the bill don't hink i have ever seen anything done on the tube like that before - although the buses have been covered.

Can't make out the station used but definately jubilee line.

I know. I think we need a couple of Tuesday episodes to make up for last weeks lost.

The Bill has been fantastic this year!

My fav stories/episodes have been Zain/Kristen etc and the finding of Amy Tenant....what about you?

I love that they are returning to titled episodes from tonight as opposed to the numbering that marked the show's descent into soap.

I think what always made The Bill strong in the early days is that there was little insight into the officers when they were off duty. I always enjoy the Bill, even when it has broadened it's outlook to included their private lives, but at the end of the day, it should be the station that is the star and the stories the things that happen in course of the working day.

^ Yeh. Maybe one or two things from outside, but not as many as now, so that it doesn't become 'soapy'.

Despite the unoriginality of it all (i.e. a gun being pointed at an officer, and their life being threatened) the clips look great.

I hope episode titles are shown onscreen as well. It seems a bit pointless to have them, but not to show them.

Things like the boxing, just left me cold, however things like Adam's family getting killed, Sam's daughter getting into trouble etc, were good.

Boxing story = BORING

I think some of the ones, such as the two you mentioned, are needed in order to give the viewers some explanation as to why the character is the way they are.

However others, such as boxing and the Emma/Matt/Will story have no relevance to the show at all, and should not be included.

I hate going off-topic, but the Abi Nixon abduction story was dreadful. One of the worst I can remember; slow-moving, boring, tedious, several episodes of wooden acting from Lisa Maxwell, ridiculous and predictable ending. Many of the above can be used to describe the boxing storyline too. Chris Jarvis hasn't got the ability to carry a storyline like that.

I think some of the recent storylines, such as Zain being undercover, Roger's depression, Gina's cancer were all a lot better.

You may not like her, but how can you describe Lisa Maxwell as wooden? I agree that the storyline was OTT and long-winded but the actors involved did their best with the scripts they were given IMO.

It looks like the show is now moving away from long-term storylines for the foreseeable future anyway.

I didn't actually see this storyline, so I can't comment.

I do agree that the 3 you mentioned as being good umbongo, were very good.

I'm not saying she's wooden all the time, of course she isn't, but she was during several episodes of that storyline. All in my opinion, of course.
