Orange GPRS (they might be ripping you off!)

For the last four months I have been subscribing on the Orange GPRS bundle 1 (the basic one) which gave me ) 0.5mb of data for £4.00

However recently all of the bundles were restructured, and bundle 1 was amended to £2 for 1mb of data.

Anyway, I called Orange CS, because I wanted to change my tariff, and once I did that, I enquired about the GPRS tariff, and she said that I would still be on the £4/0.5mb plan, and I wouldn't be changed over automatically, unless I instructed them to do it myself.

Anyway to cut a long story short, I although I switched over to the £2/1mb plan, I'm still gonna be charged £4 for this month.

So anyone out there on Orange GPRS, check out he new price plans, and get them to change you over to the new ones, which are cheaper for more data.

If you changed to the £2 GPRS tariff today the change will be immediate. You will however be charged a proportion of the £4 depending on how many days you were on the £4 tariff.

As for the reason why they decided not to change the customers to this new tariff, I assume that's because of the debt ridden French Telecom. Old users will be transfered to the new tariffs either in April or May though.
