Non 3G phone with 3G sim?!
I got a Samsung E250 brand new from woolworths yesterday as the O2 shop had sold out. Im using my old online payg sim in it so that i could keep all my credit, contacts, free texts and my number. But in the box is a 3G payg sim even though the phone isnt 3G... Why?

Maybe they are just starting to issue 3G SIMS and stopping the 2G ones so you get a 3G SIM whether the phone is 3G or not. Would make sense in my opinion to do that.

The 3g sim will work in a 2 or 3g phone. A 2g O2 sim will still work in a 3g phone but won't support the 3g features like video calling and faster downloads, and videos

hmm the only difference u will notice is the fact alot of older sims "a few years old" sometimes have trouble in a 2g handset however the new 3g sim cards have no problems with 2g handsets what so ever, 3g is just a service that is activated on the network side and the sim card can use that service.
if you have 3g activated on your account and only have a 2g phone you will still be able to use your phone. |
