Did The Judges Mark Bonnie

On her rehearsal performance and not on the performance during the competition??????

Philip and others have said her rehearsal was faultless

No if they had done that she would have had sixes across the board.

Despite the fall, her performance was amazing. Therefore I'm glad they seemed to only take .5 off their score.

Without the fall it would and should have been 6s across the board. She coped with the fall well and didn't let in ruin the rest of a brilliant routine. Deserved her score and hope she gets to skate it again.

Bonnie's a dire skater, IMO, particularly when she's got nothing to hold on to. I wasn't surprised when she fell.

I got the impression they had seen the rehearsals, which I think is a bit odd. Marking should be done on the live performance alone, and there is a risk that seeing the routines beforehand will cloud their judgement.

I thought Bonnie's routine was great, in spite of her fall, so I didn't really have a problem with the marks. I would probably have said 5.0 rather than 5.5 I think, since it was a proper fall rather than a little stumble. But she did really impress me with her skating tonight- a huge improvement on the Bonnie juggling last year
I still find her completely irritating though...

The judges obsession with Bonnie is annoying Clare was miles better than her

Lots of things going on. Kyran not in the final two would look very odd - winning one week and coming third or worse the next is problematic. No one from last year getting through would make the concept for this one off show look dubious. They obviously appreciate Bonnie and may have wanted her to win something.

Bonnie was great but the key point was why she got the daredevil routine? Clare could have done that and was more tuned up after this series and less likely to have a problem. Clare got the slower emotional piece with the difficult but less dynamic trick and Bonnie got the most stunning routine. Just shows that what you are choreographed to do matters.

Got the impression they didn't get the two people in the final dance off they wanted - though I suspect the result was inevitable though.

I think they use the rehearsals to work out what the score would be if the skate were perfect. Then, in the actual competition, they have a starting point from which to deduct marks for errors.

Considering she did actually fall over I think she was slightly overmarked - I don't think the 5.5s were particularly fair on the others.

The other 5 skated clean - and Stefan in particular was wayyy undermarked (and Gaynor overmarked) - for a good routine WITH A SALCHOW JUMP!

I agree and on defrosted Clare said she'd wanted a faster song so she could do more in the routine but she was given a slower routine. Which i thought was odd as they should be allowed to choose a slow/fast song if they wanted

I couldnt believe they were saying things like 'give bonnie anther chance at skating clean', she had her chance and she blew it none of the other fell so she didnt deserve to be in the skate-off over people who could actually skate

That's daft, even professional skaters fall sometimes. It's a shame she didn't get through it because the rest of the performance was great. The reason the panel wanted her to do well was because they had seen the rehearsals and they thought she was one of the best. They do actually judge the skating rather than the popularity of the contestant.
