So, maybe DW with a ghost-story flavour?”
Well DW does lend itself perfectly to the 'ghost of Christmas Past/Present/Future' so there's no reason why a story can't use that as a backdrop

how's that for a Christmas present, the Return of Adric ”
What a great idea. The Doctor has to make sure Adric dies in the freighter or Human beings are phased out of all of time and space.

best not say too much otherwise we will get Matthew's hopes up that the phone is going to ring.
I would still like to see a Xmass story, but not Xmass Trees attacking, it would be good to see an old enemy of the doctor returning, not Daleks or cybermen.
I would like to see a story involving the Zygons, and taking place up in Scotland, but not at Xmass time, but New Year

i'm sure he would be up for the crack in time scenario

I'm pretty sure it is. Davies went on record in DW that, of 42 and Utopia, one was set 'at the distant edge of a solar system' and the other on an alien planet (whose name I forget how to spell). From what we know of the two eps, Utopia seems the most likely to be planetset.”
