I want to get a LCD 32" Widescreen TV that I can use my Xbox 360 on, and I am trying to find one that supports PAL 60hz, which some games are designed to play on.

I have searched most TV's on Amazon.co.uk and ALL of them, those that say, report to be only 50hz Frequency, and I have not been able to find one that says otherwise. Those that do, one in particular, says PAL 525/60, and I am not exactly the brightest bulb on the planet, so none of this makes sense to me.

Can anyone suggest what I look for, or a TV LCD HD Ready 32" Widescreen itself that I can look at that DOES support PAL 60hz, or is it absolutely necessary to get one for Xbox 360, bearing in mind most games now come with 60hz as standard?

Also, if a telly says PAL / NTSC playback, will that support 60hz?

Price range is between £500-600. I live in the UK, just for the record.

What would happen if the xbox 360 was on it's HDTV setting, would it compromise the picture if the console was plugged into a scart block/splitter, rather than directly into the TV?

IIRC, through scart the XBox will only send SD signals - you need to plug it into the component input.

i have the 40 inch version of the samsung. it is grate but if you are getting or thinking of getting sky hd you might get a picture quality issue like i have. been told by members of the site that the deinterlacer dose not cope well with mpeg4.

I have Sky+ (non HD). Do I just plug that in to the TV via the scart just as normal? Curious, to make sure there is nothing else I need to know.

Yes, but make sure it's an RGB enabled SCART - often only one is.

So does anyone know if the usual SKY + Scart Lead is usually RGB Enabled or not?

For me, it's maybe too big @ 83cm wide, but look at the 18 months interest free, awesome! And 3-year onsite warranty!!

Yes it is, and is a reasonable quality lead - buying an expensive one isn't likely to make any difference. But I wasn't talking about the lead, I was talking about the sockets on the TV - often only one is RGB enabled.

One more thing... will using a Scart Block for my DVD Player and X-Box (original XBOX) affect the quality of either machine on an LCD TV?

Depends what you mean?, a mechanical switch should be OK, but those that just parallel them together aren't much use.

I have one of those that has like 4 slots for the scart in them, and you have to press a button to switch to whatever one you wish to use.
