Tiscali TV are currently running a promo for HBO On Demand "coming soon". No details on programmes or pricing yet (will it be included in the big pack like 4oD or a separate pay-per-view service?).

See website here: http://www.hbo.com/hboondemand/index.html

Edit: saw this on the HBO faq:
5. What's the difference between HBO On Demand and Video on Demand?
HBO On Demand is subscription based. The differences between HBO On Demand and most other kinds of video on demand is: 1) with HBO On Demand you get award-winning HBO programs, and 2) HBO On Demand is not pay-per-play; it's all you can watch for a low monthly subscription fee.

We can't really comment Virgin's XL package as this is a Tiscal TV product forum.

Except to say he will get as much information on it here as anywhere else - i.e. nobody knows.

That website is for their USA service. The UK service is likely to be significantly different.

HBO is included in your subscription.

HBO On Demand
Available from 5th April
(channel 28)
America's classiest drama channel comes to Tiscali TV this month with top shows including The Sopranos, Six Feet Under and Curb Your Enthusiasm, ready to watch, anytime. You also get all the usual on-demand features, so you can pause, rewind or fast-forward, just like a DVD. There's no charge per show, just select your favourite programmes, and watch them any time you want.

Yep, just saw that in the April Newsletter email. Heaven forbid, that's twice Tiscali have pre-announced something (albeit by a massive one day) - things must be looking up at Tiscali towers

I'd be surprised if Base Pack customers have it included in the price, though.

Yeah, what's the deal with that. Sopranos Series 1 seems to consist of the first episode only?

Someone posted on the Virgin Media thread about this too, it's weird. At least it's not just us, though..

It will work on a weekly basis adding extra episodes every week but storing previous episodes to build up the whole series week by week. It is subscription basedn on virgin media not sure if is sub based on tiscali/bt vision though.

It aint really On Demand then is it? what with a single episode of old shows that have been on tv.

The whole idea of on demand is to see tv when you demand to not to be drip fed diapointed

Does everyone seem to have lag issue's when browsing the content on HBO or is just me? It seems really slow in comparison to all other VOD channels.
