Love mine, used at work and for personal use. Had it from the first day it came out and had no problems at all with it.

don't know about second hand prices though.

Aside from being cosmetically different there are no other differences between the k810i and the k800i, with the exception of the price of course.

You can pick up a brand new k800i for between £150 and £200 on PAYG.

Second hand prices vary. Some of the local shops that sell second hand mobiles have then for between £105 and £150 which is shocking to be honest.

The phone itself is a damn fine one at that. My first one had a fault so got it changed the day after buying it and this one is a generic handset but it seems so sluggish when texting whereas the first one was fine. This 2nd one can't keep up with me when texting which IMHO is very very poor. It's the ONLY thing i can fault my handset with. You should regard buying a k800i [or k810i] as an immediate purchase, as with almost all SE phones. Best on the market by a long shot.

EDN1, hav u tried updating your firmware thru sonys update serive, made my k750i run twice as fast....literally, especially on navigating thru icons and texting

I've not as of yet no but i do intend to make time to sit and try to do it. Seeing as how you've tried it previously can i ask you, did you lose anything on the handset any of your own files etc ? Did it make any significant changes to the handset ?

I'm always cautious of doing this sort of thing myself in case something goes wrong, not that it should but that's my kind of luck ! lol

If you do update it, make sure you back up everything you need on the phone, as some of it may be lost as part of the update

yes i would backup just to make sure, even though i didnt loose anything, and yes it did make quite a difference, twice as fast, but thats about it, i just updated because i know sonys firmware...when 6 months or older can cause problems for the handset, such as the joystick freezing up, this is usually due to the firmware..that iv heard anyway

You don't need to. You only need to back up your data if you flash the phone via 3rd parties.

Updating the phone via the Sony Ericsson Update service does not erase any data, as it simply updates the main firmware and not the file system

I have this phone. Wasnt too impressed at first....not THAT different from a K750i but still a decent phone. I think its better built cos Ive had it 5 months and it still looks pretty new (K750i looked a mess after a couple of months)

The phone is easy to understand and navigate, and I love features like Remote Controll that you dont get on Nokias.

I think the K800i has a much nicer font than K750i

Yeah, I gave my K750 to my dad, but had to use it the other day when I saw him....LOL the characters look so blocky

I have to admit, the WXGA or whatever its called screen on the K800 makes everything a lot prettier and easier on the eye
