Yo. I'm happy to go on other bits of DS and hand out advice, but mobile phones aren't my thing. Due to a change of job though I need to get one as my current phone is part of my old job and I'll have to give it back. Shame - it's a Nokia something or other, about 5 years old and great, mainly because it doesn't cost me a penny, it always works, and no-one wants to steal it.

What I'm after is simple phone to for the occasional call & SMS, that I can happily leave on my desk for days on end without worrying that it might be nicked. Clearly Pay As You Go not contract is the way to go, but beyond that the choice seems vast, and I don't fancy sorting through all of the variations over something has absolutely zero interest for me. It stikes me that people who are into phones will have a much better idea of what's what.

So - what would be a good phone to replace the trusty Nokia with, and what is a good deal for my basic, occasional use requirements?

Thanks.

If you liked the old one , stay with it.

Pay a visit to your local pawn shop (cash converters etc) and look for one the same , there tend to be a lot of old scuffed and battered (but still working) handsets available there for a couple of quid.
