The slagging match between the Daleks and Cybermen was funny but not actually fitting to the iconic enemies of the series. (oh get me!) After reading the Radio Times and their hint at the Doctor's "greatest enemy yet" in the final episode expect to see The Master pop up at the end with a evil chuckle Suppose it could be the Black Guardian, if I remember rightly the Guardians were even greater than the Time Lords.

The only one I can think of that did not have a poor episode is season three of Buffy and even then not every episode was up to the standard of Dopplegangland. |

Babylon 5 - Series 3. Not one duff episode - the only contender for that title being raised out of it by excellent guest stars (I'm thinking of the one with the missing floor and Freddy krugar) |

Well this is more than 10 words, but here I go:
I think they need to make the show darker and more real. At the moment, it is nothing more than a children's TV show. If the doctor gets into a situation, I want to actually wonder whether he will get out. Not how long will it take him to get out. Also stop what I call the voyager factor (making up something at the last moment to get out of a tight spot). But of course they will never do that because the show is aimed at family viewers. |

And I agree with you from a personal point of view that series 2 didn't quite match up to the general standard of quality of series 1. But I don't think we'll find out five days from now, I think that we'll have to wait until the end of series 3 to be able to look at it and decide whether in general it was more like series 1 or more like series 2 in terms of quality. Or possibly even better than both in general. I guess a lot depends on what their artiistic objectives are this year, and whether they have had an honest look at what they feel that need to improve upon. One thing I'm looking forward to this year is to see how this story arc will go. As last year I didn't really see series 2 as having much of a story arc at all really. Because according to The Radio Times there IS going to be a story arc this year, and from what it said it appears that it does connect stories together. |
