hi,my 1st post! home cinema kits??
hi to everyone, my 1st post on the forum!
having recently got a panny plasma i now want to venture into a home cinema set up. nothing too fancy or expensive just want it to compliment the tv a little. are the panasonic systems any good? the only problem i foresee is i have a wood floor so i would either have to do without rear speakers or get a wireless system like the panasonic sc545 al in one. would it work for example to have a centre speaker under the tv and then 1 either side of the the tv ie;3 speakers instead of the usual 5??? my budget would only be around £200 if that helps although i realise this isnt a vast amount as far as home cinema is concerned. thanks....... |

A real home cinema environment ought to contain surround speakers - I know that there are various pieces of kit out there that imitate surround speakers through just the front speakers, but they are pale imitations. I have had wooden floors in the last two houses I have lived in, and a full 5.1 surround sound system in both. Speaker wire is very slim - tiny enough to be able to pin it right up to the skirting board and fireplace without it being noticeable.
And the wooden floors are a vast improvement over carpets when it comes to sub-woofers. Carpets tend to muffle the rumble that a decent sub produces - wood or laminate allows it to growl in all its glory. Last edited by broadz : 28-03-2007 at 09:21. |

I agree with broadz, "virtual" is nothing like the real thing
![]() Richersounds sell "Gale Hyperlitz", which is a very flat cable, and wont break the bank - you can run it round your skirting board easily .Mine is just white tacked down at the moment, but you barelly notice it - infact the gaps between the lumps of white tack are more noticable! Its also paintable! |
