6230i
I have just upgraded and passed my mobile onto my mum, the settings are the same as I had, just with her sim card. The problem is, after sending a message, the phone now plays the message tone and we can't find out how to stop this, any ideas please?

If you were on o2, and your Mum is on a different network, I think she may be getting delivery reports (something that o2 don't offer unless you key in *0# before your message) If she is on Vodafone, Orange or T-Mobile and your old 6230i is set to have delivery reports on, then it may make a message alert tone. It's been a while since I've used one so forgive me if I have given incorrect information. |

If she's using O2 then when it displays her balance after sending a text this will cause the ringing tone to play.
You can ring O2 and ask for them to switch the balance notification feature off, but this will take effect on everything such as calls, texts and will be the same for every phone the SIM card is used in, until a request to enable the notifications again is processed. |
