Anyone know what it is? I've heard it a few times on various films. Seems russian to me.

It's Dance of the Knights from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet.

Can't remember what the end theme is (I have it at home)

I've seen the advert in which SAS is getting out of his car, looking like an angry little care bear.

Am I right in thinking they have now changed the music for the opening credits and the fabulous Prokoviev piece is no longer used for this series?

Not sure, I've always presumed they swap about with the music a lot.

The Prokofiev is still being used in the trailers, but I'm 99% certain it didn't figure in the actual programme last night. It'll be a huge shame if they've axed it, as it was the perfect theme: attention-grabbing, dramatic, menacing, and slightly sinister. It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it! Hope it reappears next week....

The music is still used in "You're Fired" but it's sadly missed fomr the main feature.

The ballet version of Romeo & Juliet which features the music is really good. It's a good starter ballet with plenty of plot and even fighting to follow. It also features a load more fine music from that score. It's coregraphed (sp?) by Kenneth MacMillan who also produced some of my favourite ballets: Manon and Mayerling - both dark with tight plots and fine music.
