Hd Lcd Tv Advice Please!
Ok - there seems to be a lot of knowledge here - and I am a complete technophobe so any help GREATLY appreciated!
Am looking to buy a 26" HD LCD flat screen - budget top end is £650. Have been looking at a Phillips but then read the threads on here about them! Am looking for one I won't have too many problems with and that isnt too complicated to work! I have Sky so that would need to be connected and I want to have it wall mounted rather than free standing (so any recommends for brackets also appreciated!) but I dont game so thats not an issue. Ideally I would like a silver one rather than black as its for a bedroom and one that is fairly light and thin so its not too obtrusive in the room. Not much to ask eh! So....any recommendations? Thanks in anticipation!

As you want a silver one, my first suggestion would be to take a look at the Sony KDL26U2000 - RGB Direct are showing it for £499 (abeit that they are low on stock).
Brands that I would suggest looking at would be Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic, and Samsung (in no particluar order) - and I would agree that avoiding Philips (include LG in that as well as they are one and the same) is a sensible move, if only for the sake of your sanity should something go wrong. I personally would also avoid some of the lesser known / cheaper brands - more often than not, you really do get what you pay for. As for brackets, it is my understanding that most of these TV's use a standard mounting (known as VESA) so you are not tied to buying the bracket from the TV manufacturer - ask about as you look at TV's and you'll soon get the feel of the prices for them. Good luck
