Philips SHC 2000 infrared headphones

hi i bought these yesterday i charged up the batteries plugged in the adapter i plugged in the cable to my speakers and they dont work any ideas

The manual says that they only work within a 7m range and you have to have line of sight of the transmitter.
The batteries need charging for 16 hours.
Are the transmitter and headphones set to the same frequency.

You don't plug them in to your speakers you plug them in to a headphone socket on your equipment.

Unless they are PC speakers which have a a headphone output (just giving the OP the benefit of the doubt here)

thats what i did and i dont hear anything the lights on are on the transmitter thing

when i switch the headphones on the LED next to the on/off button does not come on do you think they might be faulty
