Wednesday 28 March 7.30 - 8pm ITV1

Things are starting to look bleak for Tracy as the trial continues

Tracy (Kate Ford) is stunned to hear that Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) has decided not to lie for her in court and even more appalled that Ken (William Roache) wants her to tell the truth. Refusing to accept defeat Tracy tries to manipulate her into changing her mind. The trial continues and as Tracy is called to the witness stand, she tries to get the jury's sympathy by crying as she relives events of the fateful night whilst Ken watches disapprovingly. However, the tables seem to turn when the prosecutors bring up the forensic expert's revelations and ask Tracy to pick up the murder weapon with her injured hand which she is unable to do. A nervous Claire (Julia Haworth) then takes the stand fighting Tracy's corner but again the prosecution bring her down by bringing up her recent medical history and the fact she was sectioned, implying effects on her judgment. A dissatisfied and desperate Tracy continues to manipulate her mother into testifying and it almost looks as if her scheming ways are working.

Janice (Vicky Entwistle) is still trying to look out for her step-daughter Leanne (Jane Danson) as she takes in her schedule of clients for the day. Sporting an expensive bag, Leanne causes a stir with Janice's workmates who are impressed by her new found wealth but problems arise when Janice sets out to return the bag to Leanne, who is with a client. Also at the factory, Carla (Alison King)
plants the idea of getting in more foreign workers as staffing continues to be a problem; Liam (Rob James Collier) seems reluctant, for now.

Elsewhere, Jerry Morton (Michael Starkey) is helping Kayleigh (Jessica Barden) with the move back to her mum's hoping that she will reconsider. There is a lot of tension between Jerry and Teresa (Karen Henthorn) as he drops his daughter off and Teresa demands money for her upkeep, claiming she can't afford to keep her.

This episode is written by Mark Wadlow, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Michael Kerrigan.

Didn't Leanne just put her bag over her shoulder, then get in the taxi? And Janice shouted that she'd forgotten her bag....an identical one ......

Court stuff was excellent!

Tracy was excellent as was Claire-gripping viewing! For a minute i thought she was going to confess to the murder and that she planned it!

Great to see Ken's expressions on his face as Tracy was speaking.

Janice/Leanne stuff was nothing special as was Morton stuff.

Overall...7/10

"Charlie was an evil man. I'm not on your side. I'm on his" Presumably Tracy didn't understand this or she wouldn't have hugged Deirdre - that, or Anne K. got her lines mixed up. Or have I misunderstood something?

I was a bit confused about that. I think she meant that as Charlie was an evil man, if she wasn't on Tracy's side she would be on his. And she didn't wanna side with someone evil I guess.

Exactly, what was all that about, I thought she meant that she was on charlies side and that she would not back tracy up but then tracy hugged deidre and ken's face dropped so I presume deidre was on tracy's side
