Tracey starts by saying that she deserves to go to prison but declines to plead guilty.

I thought that the Prosecution would totally soft on her. Why didn't they follow up when she couldn't lift the ornament. She might have broke down and confessed or at least come over badly.

Actually, I think she was being very clever - she actually said " I'm not on your side ........ " but she implied to Tracy " If I'm not on your side ?......" The intonation of the suggested question mark was very important !!

I thought tonight was a good episode but if I was Tracy I'd stop smirking in court or the jury will pick up on it!

I think she's having another nrevous breakdown, going on about Sudoku like that as if it's something new!!! Has it only just arrived in Weatherfield Gazette/Puzzler?

I really hope Deirdre doesn't break and testifies for her daughter. I know parents are suppose to stick by there kids no matter what ... but I know I would never defend any of my kids for cold blooded murder.

Well I thought "Tracey" was very plausible - at least until the prosecution started questioning her and then she completely fell to pieces - but she would, cos she's a useless liar - that is Tracey, not Kate. But I thought that Claire was a rubbish witness - but again, she would be, cos she didn't actually witness naff all !!

"David, you're good at maths" - since when has maths got anything to do with sudoku ?

Claire is acting like a total idiot - even Ashley looked embarrassed at her performance. I can't see the jury putting any credence on what she said.

I've only been in court once, as a witness and twice as a jury member - I've never seen any barrister push their luck ! But, fair enough, three times in court does not an expert make

Fabulous performance from Tracy Felt sorry for poor Claire, having her private life blurted out by the wigged witch in court

This whole storyline has made me feel for poor naive gullible Claire.

Average sort of episode tonight. I enjoyed Janice turning up at the hotel with her "Miss Whiplash" jibe & her "Two for the price of one on Wednesday's comments" lol! Didn't think that Leanne would go down the fishnet stockings route when she was "working" though.

Underworld stuff was nothing special & didn't really add anything to the episode in terms of humour or characterisation. Pointless filler really.

Morton stuff was nothing special either. This family has to "bed in" & the audience have to be given time to get to know them & care about them before they start doing stories about one of the kids going back to her mother. They haven't been in the show long enough yet for anyone to care one way or the other whether Kayleigh goes or stays.

Then, of course, we had the trial. Wasn't too keen on Claire's "sudoku" scenes outside the court as I felt that they were a little out of character. Presumably they may have been added in an attempt to show that Claire was nervous or that the pressure of a court appearance was getting to her. We've never, after all, seen her curled up on the sofa at home, poised over her puzzles.
The stuff with her in the witness box was better. Liked the way that she started off trying to lecture the jury about battered women (presumably to tie in with the fact that she's now working on the helpline) before she got restricted to answering the questions. It was obvious that the prosecution would ask her whether she'd actually seen anything though.

What let the whole trial thing down was more hamminess on the part of La Ford. Dried eyed crying, more gurning & face pulling than you could shake a stick at. Any jury with half a brain cell would have seen it was a third rate performance & known she was guilty there and then.
Not surprised that she went for the "Charlie was a good man, I wasn't a good enough girlfriend" line as that's what she used with the police & her defence team when she was telling them the same story.

Ken & Deirdre were good again. Liked Ken's rolling his eyes to Heaven as Toxic swore to tell the truth.

6 and a half out of 10.
