Really enjoyed the show tonight, perfect entertaining TV. I'm pleased Andy got fired, because he seemed like an awful manager and didn't look like he really knew what he was doing. They all have really big egos though. So far, Tre, Sophie and Gerri are my most disliked, but that could change over the next few episodes.

The "I sold 11 cups" comment was one of the funniest highlight of the episode for me

I thought this first episode was a bit slow. The highlight was probably the preview of next week's episode, with some guy running down the stairs fiddling with his knob!

Nice to see Margaret and Nick back tonight. They're both far more classier than any of the contestants!

So, altogether, do you think this year's bunch is a big improvement of last year's, or even the first series? Even though they have skills needed and they have different mixes and backgrounds, I still don't feel that good essence from Series 1.
I wonder how its ratings faired.

Andy - too sensitive, nice guy, but not ruthless enough for business (says she who is obviously an amazing businesswoman - not! )

actually I thought this may be a let down - I have loved this series so much in previous years I thought that it couldn't go on being good - but I am hooked already from day 1!

Same Rosie, overall this is a good bunch. But most of them are either too posh, too confrontational or too quiet. You just don't get anyone in between.

I enjoyed Tre's Vicky Pollard moment: "yeah but no but yeah but no but"

Is that true?!

They are a good bunch, but the producers do tend to pick similar people.

Jadine - Saira
Gerri - Ruth
Tre - Syed

I can imagine one of the quieter girls acting like Alexa from last year as well. There seems to be a young guy too who thinks he knows it all (Perhaps similar to Paul from last year.)

Still great entertainment!

The official website is now updated, with some special features including Margaret's views on Jadine, Tre's anger and the simple highlights from Week 1. Let's not forget Andy's face being cut off with the letters "FIRED" all over.
But do you think that the first episode (Week 1) should be a week when we get to know the candidates more, see where they are coming from, their true personalities and skills, instead of rushing them into a sticky situation? Or maybe a live launch show. Actually, that would be quite tacky.

Jokes! Who else, apart from me, is going to watch next week's episode? I think I might, especially when I saw when one of the boys knob was sticking out when he was rushing down the stairs.

The right person was fired. TERRIBLE management. I couldn't believe the lack of organisation these so-called high-flyers had. I was quite astonished to be honest.

I had the exact same feelings. You'd think that physicist could count and know that 300 litres of milk for making selling coffee in one day is a bit OTT.

I think so too.

Why on earth didn`t he tell them to move the mobile van to a different location instead of calling them back to base at 11.00

Just because Sophie is a quantum physicist, that doesn't she is expected to know every single little thing in every little situation.
OK, I am not keen on Sophie too, but I think you are giving her too much of a hard time, just sticking the "quantum physicist" label on her forehead.

Oh no....going by those figures Andy's team actually sold more.
If both teams had spent the same amount of money on costs then Andy's team would have won by £2 profit.

Andy actually sold the stuff and made £2 more than the other team when it came to the selling.
It's just that the Quantum Physicist woman who set up the initial costs blew it on the initial spending on milk and whatnot.

He made more in sales than the other team.
Unfortunately due to the initial costs it wasn't enough in profit.
