Apparently they talked a lot on the phone over the morning, but she didn't pass on the right info. Later he said they spent more time talking than phoning, so I doubt they had real trouble contacting him.

“The scientist did make an error, but she was right in that he should have done some research and gave her some figures.”

He did give her figures - he told to her buy 20 litres of milk. She went and bought 65 litres instead. She also bought a lot of chocolate bars. The other women were telling her she was spending too much and she did it anyway.

And she did say she wanted to work out the figures at the beginning. She shouldn't have said that if she actually wanted someone else to do it. She was quite happy doing it; it was only in the boardroom she changed her tune.

“Andy was the right person to go. He was a poor leader and really irritating lol.”

Jadine was a worse leader. She only won because she didn't have Gerri and Natalie picking a bad pitch, and Sophie disobeying orders and spending all her money. She made some really bad decisions, such as buying the wrong kind of coffee and pulling the van out of a great pitch and losing it forever.

I agree Andy was irritating and would have been fired soonish, but he shouldn't have been fired tonight. Sophie should have been. Here are the numbers:

Spend Sales | Profit
Boys: 159 520 | 361
Girls: 316 428 | 112
-----------------------------
-157 92 | 249

So the girls would have lost even if Sophie hadn't over-spent; but the over-spend was the biggest part of the loss. That was Sophie's responsibility, she disobeyed direct instructions from the PL, she should have gone.

I can imagine one of the quieter girls acting like Alexa from last year as well. There seems to be a young guy too who thinks he knows it all (Perhaps similar to Paul from last year.)

Still great entertainment! ”

Do you mean the guy who reckons he can crush bricks in his hands?
The short busy guy who can have a temper...'Crush bricks guy'/ Samuel from last year/Paul from series 1.

Paul Torreisi(sp) was on TV earlier on today as well.

I think Alan was right to sack Andy because he messed up the task and kept blaiming Gerry. Wrong Location to pick. I also hate it when after Alan fires the candidate they say back to him please change your mind. Next week's task looks promising

I have printed out "Today we work until we bleed" and stuck it on the wall to inspire the team here in the office.

I think Jadine was the wrong person to b put in charge of the boys team and what was with the singing

Yes the singing was cringyworthy, i hope thats not a sign of a creeping BBC1isation of the show.

I thought Jadine was awful

The Badger seems to enjoy mythical status but she wasnt any better then Saira in Season 1

I think Sophie doged the bullet there completely, the milk and over ordering was down to her, and her alone, Andy gave clear instructions about how much milk to buy and she completely ignored it.

Why on earth didn't Gerri, and the other girl who's name I've forgotten, but both claimed to know London, go and pull up by a tube station, there's loads in the area and generally those little vans do an excellent trade, especially in the morning, with people grabbing coffee as they get on/off the tube?

He looks like an overweight Timmy Mallett.

Kept expecting him to whip a Pinky Punky from behind his back and bash Gerri over the head with it.

Didn't they used to show the 2 people who didn't get fired returning to the house at the beginning of the next show?

Now they show it at the end of the current episode but it doesn't quite make sense in time terms. The winning team were supposed to have gone to the ballet but they were there in the house to meet the 2 people, who came straight from the boardroom.

It's just a shame that they don't fire someone from the winning team. The guys won no thanks to Jadine whose ludicrous decisions and refusal to listen to others probably prevented the guys from making an even bigger profit.

Either Jadine or Gerri should have gone. Gerri's comment that "Andy doesn't shout at people" was ridiculous. No manager worthy of their title resorts to shouting. Once you've lost your temper, you've lost the higher ground.

I noticed that too. But we were shown a small clip of the winning team in the Royal Opera house to meet that famous ballerina. Then, we get a scene from the boardroom as to who was fired, the 2 who didn't get fired went back into the house, and we then get a clip of Andy in the car saying how shocked he was etc...

here's hoping they have better rewards for us UKers

the US version had great rewards including a private jet to LA where they got voiceover parts in Over The Hedge, making songs with Wyclef Jean and Snoop Dogg, diamonds ($'000s), private jet to go meet Arnold Schwarzenegger etc etc

Great start to the series last night.

Andy deserved to go. A project manager is supposed to manage and he clearly didn't. At the start of the programme he came across as very positive but his coffin was being nailed shut the moment he tried to wriggle out of being nominated as project manager.

The two thick fat birds in the dock with him will be fired in weeks two and three I would guess.

Andy actually sold the stuff and made £2 more than the other team when it came to the selling.
It's just that the Quantum Physicist woman who set up the initial costs blew it on the initial spending on milk and whatnot.”

But you need to include in his sales figure the fact he was flogging off the excess milk & choclate bars at less than they paid for them so that is a bit misleading.

Their BB also has better rewards than ours for tasks etc.,
Trips to Hawaii, cars, money etc etc.,

Alan will probably keep swapping the teams i reckon for most of the series. Well on US version of The Apprentice its always been like that with the rewards.

I think the show could have done more to introduce the particpants, i'm still wondering who half of them are, especially on the girls side.

And who would want to be a "team leader" now?

Well I was a bit gutted for Andy when he got the bullet, seemed the wrong decision.

He did his best to manage the buying process but when the "scientist" who clearly can't do maths ignored his request and bought more milk and loads of chocolate bars the project was doomed.

The ladies who "knew London" (knew the City more like), chose a totally unsuitable location as well.

The only mistake I can see Andy making was pulling the van back to the same location. he should have sent it somewhere else, but perhaps he had lost confidence in finding a good sales site.

I don't think the scientist will last long. Seems like a typical career academic, no sense of the real world, certainly no sense of commerce. And the asian bloke who was giving the team leader a real earful won't last long with that attitude. Yes, he was right to disagree with her, but you don't give a manager the F-word in any situation, let alone the first time you work with them.

On balance Sir Alan probably fired the right person last night but only for the fact that he recalled the mobile coffee shop and didnt send it somewhere else which was a really bad decision.

Sophie has already marked her card as she doesnt obey orders and had Andy been better at making decisions she would surely have been the one for the chop.

Jadine was infact worse as some of her decisons where plan bizarre. Why did she recall the mobile coffee van to pick-up 2 more people (and where in the van where they supposed to sit?) when its doing well where it was. It was by her own admission only 10 minutes away so surely it would have made more sense to send the 2 extra bods on foot.
Buying the wrong coffee! - basic error.
Her little rant in the boardroom before she even knew if they had won or lost was a real insight to her true self.

Tre will be basically living on borrowed time from now on in and if he really thinks he has what Siralan is looking for he is a bigger idot than he appeared last night and that is definite and certain mate.

Most of them on both teams seemed to dissappear in the edit so will be interested to see next week if anyone makes more of an impression.

Overall the best 60minutes of TV this week (unless House beats it tonight)

I also agree with this. Maybe a mini clip of each like Big Brother would have introduced their background, education and work experience.

I also don't know who half the contestants are, which is strange.

What is more strange to me is how none of the men wanted to be Project Manager. What is the point of being there? I had a bit of sympathy for Andy being 'elected' when he was the first one to make it clear he did not want to be PM. I knew then that he would probably go.
