Bit late on this thread... why didn't someone set up outside the very busy Angel underground station? Perhaps they couldn't get permission from TFL? All the same, the program was much better than England's performance against Andorra. Looking forward to next episode.

it makes a bigger statement in the long run to volunteer, step up and perform well - there's more scope for someone else getting fired if you lose
EDIT: why not setup shop in or around canary wharf, and sell the coffee for less than the extortionate prices they charge around there make a killing outside the station Last edited by bigviv : 29-03-2007 at 10:47. |

Andy looks a lot like Charles Dale http://www.corrie.net/profiles/actors/dale_charles.html
He was Eileen's boyfriend in Coronation Street, before he ran off with Janice and then got killed. |

Brilliant show, although I think it's starting to get formulaic a la Big Brother. They need to make some careful changes next year.
Andy: blimey, this man uses more cliches than King Cliche of the Cliche Universe. All that "We gotta step up to the plate and drink from the poisoned chalice", "Yeah, GO for it, team!" All that 'motivational' garbage turns me off completely and makes the red mist descend. It's meaningless shite. I also thought he was a little too "handsy" and couldn't ever just shake someone's hand but had to clutch their arm or pat their shoulder. Reminded me of a vicar at a wedding. Other than that, he's a lovely bloke! Seriouslyu, I think he'll be successful at whatever he does, but he needs to stop talking in business cliches. Has anyone seen the clips from next week's show where the team leader insists the men take their jackets off so they can be creative? Very funny. He sounds like a right banana. My problem this year is they're all too young. We need some older people for balance. |

Here were last nights ratings in full in the 9pm slot: BBC1: The Apprentice - 5 million (21.4%) BBC2: European Cup - 2.4 million (11%) ITV1: Blue Murder - 3.2 million (15%) Channel 4: Grand Designs - 3.3 million (14%) Five: The Dead Pool - 1.3 million (6%) This is great news for The Apprentice! Out of alll the terrestrial channels in that time slot, it won the most ratings. This is a high of the 2005 launch and 2006 launch. 2005, on BBC2, got just 2.5 million (10.5%), and in 2006 which was also on BBC2, it got 4.5 million (19%). Quote:
The Apprentice launched with 5 million viewers on BBC1 last night, winning its 9pm slot against competition from Channel 4's Grand Designs. http://media.guardian.co.uk/overnigh...045409,00.html
Sir Alan Sugar's heavily promoted business reality show had a successful first night on BBC1, after two series on BBC2, attracting a 22% share between 9pm and 10pm, according to unofficial overnights. |

Sorry i don't agree with you sue, Andy messed up even though Gerry also messed up with the location. Alan was right to fire him in the end.

I wonder how much editing is changing the story for us, i can't really understand why 2 experienced business brains (apparently) would waste hours at the market with a MOBILE coffee bar if they weren't selling. Even a couple of green management trainees would probably consider moving on somewhere else!

Gerry out of the three in the boardroom made the fewest mistakes. I can understand why she didnt have any faith in Andy after he didnt return her call for two hours and blamed her for calling too much. The only mistake Gerry made was the poor location but there was another girl working with her who made equal decisions so it wouldnt be fair if sir sugar had only fired her.
Sophie who bought 200 pints of milk after her leader told her to buy only 20 made a more fatal mistake. If Andy hadnt been such a weak leader she would have definately been fired for not showing any business or general common sense. I would have loved to known how many pints of milk they ended up using in the end. |

Jadine is far too lippy & her sales strategy is flawed. Her team won not because of her but because the guys actually know how to sell, no thanks to her.

Jadine got away lightly. If it wasn't for Tre she'd have been f**ked.
"Make sure you sprinkle the top with a load of brown sugar, coz it's all about the eclipse!" God, I hate her. |
