EE Vicky - rubbish
Is the girl who plays Vicky really American? I would be very surprised if she is, because she sounds like she's putting on that accent, pretty unconvincingly.
I'm going to look a right gimp now if she is.

She's not and eventually she's going to lose the American accent anyway

I didnt think she was American.
It will be easy to write an explanation to why she talks with an American accent though. Such as in America she learnt the accent, and when she ran away to Sunny Walford she kept the accent thinking that the boys would like her more, if she was 'different'. |

Surely there doesn't need to be an explanation for her accent? She's lived in the States for years? You would expect her to have an accent.

She was just a little kid when she moved to America. It's entirely reasonable for her to have an accent now. Kids pick things up very quickly.

My point was about the actress' dismal failure to do a convincing accent.
Of course the character is meant to have a convincing American accent (she had lived in the US since v young) - and not sound like someone badly impersonating an American, which unfortunately she does. I only hope the writers don't make her try to gradually pick up a cockney accent! That would be painful. |

I read in the Radio Times that she is in fact American - that still doesn't help the fact that she can't act and her storyline is exceedingly boring!!

Also, bear in mind that there isn't really one American accents. Each state has it's own variation on it, and some do sound very false. |
