Formatted Drive by Accident:(
I have a Samsung HR725 and have accidentally formattd the HD which had some stuff I hadn't watched, is there any way to undo this? the manual says not but wondered if anyone had found a way around it.

unlikely ... but if it is possible you'll probably have more joy in the computing section.

There is software that can be used to recover lost data even after a format (provided the data you wish to retrieve has not been written over with other data.)
You would need to take the HDD out of the PVR and connect it to your computer and run the software to try and recover it. Bearing in mind the cost of the software if you don't already have it and the hassle you may prefer to get this done by a company offering such specialist services. Either way opening up the PVR and taking the HDD out would void the warranty if you were still covered by it. With all this in mind I suspect your reply is something along the lines of "oh... not worth it then..."

Hi, thanks for the replies, I wasn't sure if there was an outside chance that there was some magic DVD that I could put in the recorder to recover the lost programmes but otherwise I guess I can live without them and as you correctley predicted it isn't worth the hassle of taking the HD out
