Laptop VGA to TV Component?
Hi all,
I have a Tosh 32WLT66 tv, and am wanting to output media to it from my laptop. Ive used a vga to vga cable for a while, but as anyone with the tv will know who's done this, you can't view the video in widescreen. It outputs in 4:3 and then letterboxes, so only the middle segment of the screen is actually used. Ive seen that there are VGA to Component cables around... (http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tv...les/op=eq.html) ...and as i believe both to be analogue format (?) im thinking this might work, as then the 4:3 vga restriction the WLT66 has wont come into play. Has anybody sucessfully tried this, or does anyone have any comments on whether its likely to work? Thanks in advance. |

It won't work, VGA is RGB + H & V Sync, Component is slightly encoded and not compatible. The leads aren't for connecting a computer to a TV.
