Hi all,

I have a Tosh 32WLT66 tv, and am wanting to output media to it from my laptop. Ive used a vga to vga cable for a while, but as anyone with the tv will know who's done this, you can't view the video in widescreen. It outputs in 4:3 and then letterboxes, so only the middle segment of the screen is actually used.

Ive seen that there are VGA to Component cables around...

...and as i believe both to be analogue format (?) im thinking this might work, as then the 4:3 vga restriction the WLT66 has wont come into play.

Has anybody sucessfully tried this, or does anyone have any comments on whether its likely to work?

Thanks in advance.

It won't work, VGA is RGB + H & V Sync, Component is slightly encoded and not compatible. The leads aren't for connecting a computer to a TV.
