Vodafone PAYG settings

Hi there.

I have just switched from contract to PAYG and my WAP settings no longer work. I have tried downloading from the vodafone site via text message but it doesn't work.

Before I wait 4 days for customer support to reply does anyone have any ideas to help me?

For info the phone is a Nokia 6230i.

Cheers.

Try the Nokia site?

Most Vodafones have the contract and pre-pay settings pre-installed. It may just be a case of selecting the correct one.

Hi spannerjago,

If you're unable to find the settings to send to your phone, you can try these

1. Press Menu

2. Scroll to Settings and press Select

3. Scroll to Configuration and press Select

4. Scroll down to Personal Configuration settings and press Select

5. If there are no profiles created, press the menu key to select Add new, if there are, press Options and scroll down to Edit

6. Stay on Web and press Select

7. Stay on Account Name and press Select

8. Press Clear to remove the current name and enter a name for your settings i.e. Vodafone live and press OK.

9. Scroll down to Homepage and press Select, after the http:// enter live.vodafone.com

10. Scroll down to User Name and press Select and enter wap, press OK

11. Scroll down to Password and press Select and enter wap, press OK

12. At Verify password enter wap and press OK.

13. Scroll down to Use Preferred Access Point and press Select

14. Stay on Proxy and press Select, scroll to Enable and press Select

15. Scroll down to Proxy Address and press Select. Enter 212.183.137.012 and press OK
Note: hold down the numerical keys to enter the number and press the 1 key to enter a full stop

16. Scroll down to Proxy Port and press Select and enter 8799 and press Select

17. Scroll down to Data Bearer and press Select, scroll to GPRS data and press Select

18. Scroll down to Bearer Settings and press Select

19. Stay on GPRS Access Point and press Select, enter wap.vodafone.co.uk or pp.vodafone.co.uk

20. Scroll down to Authentication type press Select, scroll to Normal and press Select

21. Scroll down to User Name and press Select and enter wap, press OK.

22. Scroll down to Password and press Select and enter wap, press OK

23. At Verify password enter wap and press OK.

24. Press Back

25. Scroll up to Data Bearer and press Select, scroll to GPRS and press Select

26. Press Back until you reach to the Personal Account screen, scroll to highlight the new profile you have just created i.e. vodafone live and press Options

27. Stay on Activate and press Select

28. On a vodafone live variant handset scroll up to Default configuration and press Select.

29. Scroll down to Personal config. and press Options

30. Scroll to Set as default and press Select

Hope this helps.

Right I have just tried that and all I get when I try to connect to the internet is a message telling me GPRS connection is not available.

I've have tried the settings from Vodafone, Nokia and now the above settings and still no luck. Time to brave customer services I think.

Hi spannerjago,

You can email me if you want using the webform on www.vodafone.co.uk/contactus

Please put FIT135 into the main body of the email so it's routed to me.

Please also ensure that you include the following information:

The first and second digits of your 4 digit PIN
Your Date of Birth
Your Payment Method
Your Address and Postcode

I look forward to your email.

Hi spannerjago,

I've looked through our systems and see that it's not yet been received.

Did you use the FIT135 code?

If so, can you let me know the tracking number so I can search for it. PM me it if possible.

Thanks.

Kev
