Quick question
Hi Guys
I was using a Daewoo 15" TV/Video combo with Thomson DTI 2300 freeview box till this week. This is for my bedroom. But due to the small screen size, which then gets even smaller for widescreen viewing eg DVD's, I decided I needed a much bigger screen so went out and made a purchase. I decided to go as big as I could and went for a 26". Anything bigger would be too big for the bedroom. I also wanted a Flatscreen and went for a LCD. It is a Samsung and is part of there R73 series I think. Anyway, I decided it should be a HD Ready tele and also thought it would be easier to have freeview built in. Now, of course there are no HD channels currently available on freeview and wont be until at least 2008 but I at least expected the picture to be the same, if not slightly better than my old Daewoo. Sometimes, it is with fantastic colours etc etc, but as I channel hop, sometimes the picture seems very grainy or blocky. I also then tried out the standard DVD player which was fantastic quality on my old TV, but now again seems grainy or blocky. I know I will only get to use HD properly with a HD channel etc, but I at least expected the picture to be the same for SD, but in reality it has got worse. Why is this? And is there anyway to improve the picture. What are these so called DVD upscalers? |
