Currently David is appearing as one of the judges on Grease Is The Word, ITV’s hit Saturday night primetime talent show. He also has his own show This Is David Gest airing on ITV on Sunday 22nd April.
SIMPLY THE GEST is part memoir, part his take on life, the universe and Hollywood. It is is an all-round portrait of a true original. David’s tall tales, huge sense of fun and sheer likeability proved to be ratings gold and his stories and expressions have become national catchphrases. Not only did he win over the British public with his charm, flamboyance and amazing sense of humour, but he was revealed as someone who, despite the fact that he has had extraordinary experiences and moves in circles most of us can't even imagine, we can all relate to, someone who cares. This book that will broaden our perception of the person we all fell in love with on that show and will cover a wide range of topics from the humorous, to the celebrity, to the more serious and cultural: we are all longing to know his secret.
David Gest grew up in California and started working in the music industry when still in his teens. Starting out in music PR, he made his first million while still in his twenties and has made and lost several fortunes since. He is friends with and has worked with some true musical legends as well as countless Hollywood stars. In 2002 he produced Michael Jackson's 30th anniversary spectacular, which remains the highest rated live music event in American TV history.
