I am having trouble pairing with new bluetooth devices using my K800i - the phone will recognise devices but fails to connect to any of them. I have tried to do with this with several friends' phones and my factory fitted hands free kit (Toyota Verso). However, if a bluetooth device (eg a friend's phone) finds me and tries to pair it will work fine. So I can be connected to but I cannot initiate a connection, even though I can identify a bluetooth device. I have spoken with SE tech support and other than suggest a software update (already done) and a settings reset (already done) they have suggested I return it for repair (not keen).
For the record, my wife''s phone (Samsung D600) can connect via bluetooth to my K800i and to the car's hands free kit with no problems, so I know that the hands free kit works.
Any suggestions for something I am missing? Is the K800i backwards compatible with earlier bluetooth versions? My in car hands free is compliant with 0.96 and 1.0 profiles but the K800i is 1.1?
Any help would be appreciated before it gets boxed up and sent to Oxford. . . . .!
