Do you think there could be any connection between these two Doctor Who characters?

I know there is the obvious skin colour difference, but even that couldn't rule out every sort of family connection.

I think it might be interesting to see what might play out.

Has anything been siad to rule out such a conenction?

Because it hasn't happened...yet.

If they ever cast a black Doctor (which they should - since Serenity came out I've said that Chewitel Ejifor should succeed David Tennant) then they'll do a story where he goes back, has an affair with Sarah Jane, and becomes Mickey's father.
