non-HDCP compliant display problem
Just purchased a dvd film The Fog, intending to play on my Philips dvd player with HDMI connected to my Techosonic tv, I got the the above message.
I have played various other dvd films with no problem. Any advise? Last edited by Hancock : 31-03-2007 at 20:14. |

The disc may be triggering copy protection on the digital link so is being blocked where as other DVD's don't, anything on the sleeve to indicate such?

We've seen some broadcasts on satellite refusing to be recorded onto DVDr via SKY+ thanks to copy protection flag being tripped, this may be the same thing and only affecting some people.
It could simply be a handshaking failure between the two units, the TV has a fully compliant HDMI input? I assume the DVD is R2 and that the Philips is scaling the image via the HDMI link to a HDMI input on the TV or are you just sending 576p? As Nigel says try component and good old RGB scart and perhaps try the disk on another player, if still no luck then contact the distributor, they may not be aware of a fault which may be source/display specific like the early days of DVD when some disks simply did not like some players. |

Hi, the dvd is region 2, and I am using HDMI link to a HDMI input.
