DW - Compensation papers given to Martha

I wonder if the compensation paper given to Martha from the Jagoon is going to be relevant in a future programme?

Maybe...I found that bit of the scene quite funny

You know what they say, don't introduce a gun in the first act...

Then again, this is RTD we're talking about

Same thought crossed my mind - they have got to be significant.

Probably a get out of jail free type card that may come in handy somewhere.

Not sure but it was a great one liner if anything

I definitely think that - as mentioned on the episode thread - the Judoon could come back.

I can imagine them popping up from time to time, gradually getting to know and trust The Doctor, and then calling on him for help - or maybe vice versa, as The Doctor is a bit dismissive of them right now but they could prove useful allies at some point.

If The Master was ever to return, and is Moriarty to The Doctor's Holmes, perhaps the Judoon could be Inspector Lestrade?

Good thinking...that would be something worthy of those sneaky mentions of Bad Wolf in the first series which nobody really spotted early on...much more subtle than the Torchw-a-ma-ganza last series.

I would love to see the Judoon back - really well executed and lots of scope for both fear and comedy. And not in a bodily-function, Slitheen-type way either...thank heaven.

What was the compensation for?

Maybe it was something which happened in the past.....

...which Martha hasn't experiences yet, but the Judoon, upon carryig out their full scan of her realised who she was and was someone they got compenation for for something done against her in the past....maybe...

False arrest? She was carrying traces of non-human DNA and had to be probed more deeply to determine she was in fact human.

I just loved the look on her face after they gave her the 'papers'!

She's a great actress.

Yeah, it was a nice little line I thought. Definately a lot funnier than the more obvious attempts at comedy RTD threw in their, that weren't that funny at all!

I doubt the compensation will have any significance in the long run, but like someone else said, with RTD you don't know. He's always referencing back to his own episodes in this pat on the back sort of way, lol. I mean how many times did he have Rose mention the bloody Slitheen during her two years on the show!

... I live in hope.

I'd like to think that was a seed planted for later in the series a bit like they used to do in Babylon 5.
