What is HDMI 1.1 or 1.3?

Having finally getting my head around the different resolutions of HDTVs and deciding which one I want for my PS3, I have seen articles in the last few weeks saying that the PS3 uses HDMI uses 1.3 whereas some TVs still use 1.1

What does this refer to?

I think I may go to a specialist shop when making my purchase as I can't see the staff in Comet etc. even knowing what 1.1 or 1.3 are!

click on installer training and all will be clear, you will love hdmi....... no more expensive leads as they are all tested

I wouldn't worry about, it will make no real difference, far more limiting is the compression used on broadcasts and DVD's.
