I generally pay £30 a month to orange and upgrade at the end of the contract , but usually have to pay at least £100 for the new phone , how come others get free upgrades ? If I wanted a K800i , what's to stop me buying one from argos mid contract and inserting my sim into it , also what are the disadvantages of moving to payg

You may want to try the Virgin Mobile deal at £10 per month you get 300 mins and 300 texts but you have to take a Virgin Media service. The mobile contract is only a 30 day one which means theres no 12/18 month committment but you only get a sim card.

Other companies like Vodafone have Sim only deals too.

Depending on how much you use your phone PAYG is generally more expensive.

People get free upgrades by asking for them. doing their research and saying to their network 'if i went here i could get this for this much...' and the network offer a better deal.

I was in pretty much the same position as you. I was on a rubbish deal, with around a £30 a month bill. I phoned them up, went through the options 1,4,3, whatever... to get to the "thinking of cancelling your contract". They gave me a new Sony 850i (I think, the walkman one), plus 500 minutes, 100 texts, for £15 a month.

Ask them for the PAC code because you've been offered 750 minutes and 300 texts for £17 with 3, and they'll offer you loads of stuff to stay

You have to subscribe to one of Virgin Media'd services from www.virginmedia.com to get it. So say you took a phoneline at £11.00 per month you would get free cable tv with that and you would have the option to take the £10 offer so TV, Landline & Mobile would be £21 per month. Considering most contracts these days are £30+ per month thats a pretty good deal.

I'm not too sure if you can get the offer if your in a non cabled area although you might be able to if you sign up to the old Virgin.Net service.

The house im moving into in the Uk has a virgin telelphone and broadband and cable service already, therefore dont think i'll be able to avail of the offer.

Their other offers dont really impress me tbh.

I reckon 150mins and 200texts a month would do me, I want to pay as little for that as possible!

Hi thanks for the above advice. I phoned orange for the PAC code and they offered me 400 mins 100 texts for £15 a month and a SE K800i. Much better than my current plan of 250mins and 50 texts for £35, which I was always going over the 250 mins to about 350 mins. Now I shall be saving £20-30 per month

I'm glad it worked

It sounds like you were/are in exactly the same position as I was/am.

Now if you know anything about getting good broadband deals we'll be square
