I wonder if Paul O'Grady would ask to be paired up with Lilia, since he danced with her on his show.

would he need to be paired with someone taller? What about Camella?

Apparently he's six foot, so I guess he is a bit big for Lilia.

I've got a wishlist for next year: Richard Hammond, Nigel Harmon, Mark Owen, and Jay Kay- basically lots of short men, ideal to dance with Lilia, Flavia, Ola and Nicole, who are all tiny. Also to prove there are other people in the world besides sportsmen!

great list though I think that Mark Owen might be too busy and I don't think it would be Nigel Harman's scene

maybenext series they will opt for a female sports personality? Sally Gunnell? Sue Barker ( )

I think there's zero chance of any of them doing it, but I would so love Lilia and Jay Kay dancing together.

The trouble with female sports personalities is that people don't tend to take to competitive women. Then you end up with situations where more people are voting for someone like Julian Clary than for someone like Denise Lewis...

I guess that you are right Though i liked to watch Denise dance

He would have loved to do it, but his health will prevent him from taking part sadly

I think Gabby Logan is a cert for this year.
Georgina took her place last year when ITV prevented her from doing it (spoilsports)
She's left ITV now to work for the beeb

Thought *we'd* already ruled out Nigel because he'd been in 'Chicago' in the West End.

I've heard the BBC are desperate to get Natalie Cassidy doing it. At 5'4'', she seems a likely partner for Darren

I bet he hasn't done ballroom or latin before though. If we accept the argument for Jill Halfpenny, Louisa Lytton, Emma Bunton etc., why not for him?
I can't imagine he'd be interested in doing it though!

Here, here! Anton should get a good partner this year. He deserves it, he hasn't had a really good partner yet. All the other regular men have!

Actually Anton had good potential partners in Patsy Palmer and Lesley Garrett. The real problem is that Anton is so totally hopeless at latin dances, that there is no way he can teach a good routine and technique to anyone else, when he is incapable of doing it properly himself!!! That is the real problem, and although he is a very elegant ballroom dancer, I cannot agree that he deserves to win, when he is unable to dance 50% of the dances well himself.

The pro most deserving of a break is Nicole- neither of her partners have had any potential at all, which is a shame when she's such an amazing dancer.

Dancingles and Katie -i agree with both of your points.
I have been wondering why Anton 'deserves' to win it?
Lesley was good and Patsy certainly had potential -but his Latin routines never have much of a wow factor, much as I like him as a dancer and as a person.
I worry if he gets someone young and able, whether he could choreograph latin routines like say, Ian or Darren do? Not sure
Also, Nicole has had two dire partners (although Diarmud was so funny -especially his paso).

I daresay that Erin and Ian must be wondering what they have to do to win

Diarmud was gorgeous, lucky Nicole!! couldn't dance for toffee though! She seems really lovely and I hope she catches a break this series and gets herself a good'un!!

Hi Footgirl! Hope you are well

I thought that Erin and Colin had it won in 2005 until THAT dance Poor Colin! I sat openmouthed throughout!!!

Ian Waite has gone close twice too, runner up with Denice Lewis and third with Zoe Ball.

Love to see Camilla win it.

Picking up on your suggestion of pairing Steve Davis with Karen Hardy, do you think it would be one of those partnerships you couldn't help but vote for

Think Darren already had it 'in the bag' before the showdance anyway, due to his cheeky chappy 'I'm a bloke' routine. His book claims that out of 4 mil votes cast, he got 3 mil. Don't know how he got that info. though.
